Describe the key innovation and technology aspects of the project

Project Narrative

Achieving BREEAM outstanding certification, Powerhouse Brattørkaia features a skewed, pentagonal roof and facade wrapped with a large area of solar panels that respond to the polar climate it is located in. The facade is clad with almost 3000 m2 of solar panels and harvests about 500000 kWh with clean, renewable energy in total over a year. On average, Powerhouse Brattørkaia produces more than twice as much electricity as it consumes daily, and will supply renewable energy to itself, its neighboring buildings, electric buses, cars, and boats through a local microgrid.
