Project Narrative
A multi-storey double-skin facade with a 1-metre-wide buffer cavity conditions incoming air before it enters the HVAC system—critical in Winnipeg's extreme continental climate (-35°C to +35°C). A 22-storey solar chimney draws warm air upward for passive cooling in summer. The south facade uses automated exterior shading; the north relies on the insulating buffer cavity. First LEED Platinum office building in North America. EUI: 85 kWh/m²/year.
