Project Narrative
The north and west facades use a multi-system active envelope: computer-controlled hydraulic timber louvers made of recycled hardwood track solar angles throughout the day. The west face features precast concrete blade fins for thermal mass shading, and the east face uses perforated metal screens. The integrated facade strategy reduced energy use by 87% versus a standard building. First to achieve 6-Star Green Star in Australia.
